Recruiting Gwanak-gu 'Smart City Service Planning Living Lab Resident Participation Group' Planned and Experienced by Residents

Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has enhanced interest in the smart city sector and strengthened the capabilities of residents and staff through various educational programs aligned with the rapidly changing digital environment.

This year, the district conducted smart technology education for residents, whose utilization has been gradually increasing recently.

First, in May and June, the district held two sessions each of the "4 Types of Drone Certification Training," providing hands-on opportunities to operate drones directly.

The training was very popular among residents, achieving a 95% completion rate, and the district plans to continue drone education next year.

In August, during the school vacation, various practical programs were conducted for elementary school students using ChatGPT, including ▲block coding tasks ▲making AI lamps ▲learning about Arduino ▲creating smart Internet of Things (IoT) home models.

To enable staff to provide more convenient services to residents using digital technology, digital competency enhancement training for employees was also strengthened.

In particular, practical training was conducted on using AI technologies as work assistance tools through applications such as ChatGPT and Adobe Firefly.

Following two practical sessions in July, an employee competition was held in September, awarding eight people including the grand prize winners, motivating the staff.

Additionally, big data analysis training was conducted twice a year in the first and second halves, educating practitioners to make objective and proactive policy decisions based on data.

In November, the district will hold the "Smart City Service Planning Living Lab" to create a smart city in Gwanak led by residents.

The district is recruiting resident participants until November 1, and anyone interested in proposing resident-experience-oriented services by applying new technologies with experts can participate regardless of their major or background.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, "It is important to continuously provide an environment where the necessity of smart cities and smart technologies can be felt through education in new technology fields," adding, "We will continue to accelerate the creation of a smart city in Gwanak together with residents."
