On the 29th, Large-Scale Joint Disaster Response Drill Conducted at Korea National Sport University by Civil, Government, Military, Police, and Fire Departments
Assuming Electric Vehicle and Electric Kickboard Fire, Discussion and On-Site Drills Conducted in Real-Time Connection
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on October 29 that it will conduct the '2024 Songpa-gu Disaster Response Safe Korea Training' at Korea National Sport University to enhance disaster response capabilities in preparation for large-scale disasters such as fires and collapses.
In response to the recent increase in fire incidents related to electric vehicles, the district planned a large-scale disaster response training themed 'Electric Vehicle and Electric Kickboard Fire Accidents' to actively prepare for such fires.
About 500 participants from 16 organizations including Songpa Fire Station, Songpa Police Station, Korea National Sport University, the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, and the National Experience Group will participate, with over 50 training vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances mobilized.
In particular, this training will be conducted as an 'integrated linked training' to strengthen the cooperation system among related organizations to prioritize the safety of residents in the event of a disaster.
Both 'tabletop training,' which involves meetings in the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters situation room to respond, and 'field training,' which handles actual disaster situations, will be conducted simultaneously.
On the 29th, assuming a fire incident involving electric vehicles and electric kickboards around the dormitory area of Korea National Sport University, the training will proceed with ▲ rapid initial response through situation assessment meetings ▲ activation of the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Integrated Support Headquarters ▲ inspection of civil, public, military, and police collaborative response systems.
Especially, the focus is on achieving organic cooperation among related organizations to establish a rapid situation reporting system and a role-sharing system among response agencies during disaster situations.
Using the Disaster Safety Communication Network (PS-LTE), a system that links the field and situation room in real time, the plan is to strengthen response capabilities by enabling rapid situation dissemination, resource support, and recovery and restoration systems.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “This training will serve as an effective educational opportunity as Korea National Sport University students participate directly and experience disaster response methods,” adding, “Through training based on actual scenarios, we will strengthen rapid initial response capabilities and thoroughly prepare for various disasters that can occur anytime and anywhere, building a dense social safety net.”
