Handonghun "Differences with Yoon, the Right Path... No Democratic Party Official Criticizing Lee Jae-myung"

Handonghun Emphasizes Respecting Differences in Party Activities at Meeting with 2030 Generation
"Democratic Party Floor Leader Cannot Criticize Lee Jae-myung"

Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, said on the 27th, "My opposition to the president is not a personal matter."

At the event titled 'Reverse Interview X People Power Party, 2030s Ask and the Party Answers' held at a shared office in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, Han was asked about the differences between the People Power Party and other parties such as the Democratic Party. He responded, "It is about respecting and allowing differing opinions."

Han said, "I have expressed many differing opinions," adding, "As the party leader, I believe this is the right path and the way for all of us to live."

Recently, he demanded three major measures from President Yoon Seok-yeol regarding First Lady Kim Keon-hee: suspension of external activities, personnel reshuffle in the presidential office, and cooperation in investigating allegations, as well as the appointment of a special inspector. Although the presidential office has effectively expressed a negative stance, raising concerns about conflicts between the party and the government, Han emphasized that 'differing opinions' must be respected in party activities.

Han further stated, "In the People Power Party, it is possible to oppose and ridicule me. Policy opposition can be freely expressed." He added, "In the Democratic Party, it is unimaginable to have a floor leader or key party official harshly criticizing leader Lee Jae-myung’s judicial risks. That is a big difference, and the People Power Party is a party where healthy democracy lives."

He also said, "Another difference from the Democratic Party is the perspective on welfare," criticizing, "The Democratic Party wants to close companies, liquidate them, and distribute the proceeds. 'We will give 250,000 won. Take it and get an additional 50,000 won call money,' things like that."

He continued, "South Korea still has opportunities to move upward, and we must put our spoons in and ride that wave," adding, "The fruits gained there should be used for welfare for all of us. Who would vote for a party that demands sacrifice for growth?"
