According to major foreign media on the 27th, the Vietnamese government expects Trami to make landfall in the central region that morning, causing heavy rain, strong winds, floods, and landslides.


The Vietnam Meteorological Agency forecasted up to 700mm of rainfall in Quang Binh and Quang Nam provinces by the 28th.


Operations at four major airports?Da Nang International Airport, Phu Bai International Airport in Thua Thien Hue Province, Dong Hoi Airport in Quang Binh Province, and Chu Lai Airport in Quang Nam Province?have been suspended.


In the Philippines, about 130 people have died or gone missing due to Trami. As of the previous day, 85 people lost their lives from landslides and other causes, and 41 remain missing. Rescue and search operations are still ongoing, so the number of casualties is expected to rise.
