Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the 'Halloween Response Joint Situation Room' set up at Hongdae Red Road R4 on the night of October 25th and began full-scale crowd management.
At the site, 425 personnel including district office officials, police, fire department, and private organizations were deployed to respond to crisis situations and guide safety.
Mayor Park Gang-su, who took charge of crowd management, inspected every corner from Exit 9 of Hongdaeipgu Station, where many people gather, to Red Road R1~R6, and the club street where Mapo District recently widened the pedestrian walkway for safety, immediately removing illegal advertisements, electric kickboards, and accumulated trash that posed threats to pedestrians.
In addition, Mapo District actively utilized the 'AI Crowd Density Analysis System' at Hongdae Red Road, which was expanded to a total of nine locations this year with three additional installations, to help pedestrians easily understand the street conditions.
Also, through disaster message electronic display boards installed at five major points along Hongdae Red Road, real-time instructions on crowd behavior were broadcast.
Furthermore, Mapo District closely monitored the situation on-site via closed-circuit television (CCTV) from the 24-hour operating Mapo District CCTV Integrated Control Center and Disaster Safety Situation Room.
Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo District said, "With the belief that there is no excess in safety, we will focus administrative efforts on crowd management from today until the early morning after Halloween Day," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that all residents and tourists visiting Hongdae during Halloween can enjoy a safe and peaceful weekend as usual."
Mapo District will conduct on-site inspections and safety campaigns every evening from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next day from October 25 to October 30, and until 3 a.m. the next day on Halloween, October 31.
