Professor Cho Seung-gu of Dongmyeong University Department of Architecture Honored with the 67th Busan City Cultural Award

Professor Cho Seung-gu of Dongmyeong University (Department of Architecture) received the ‘67th Busan City Cultural Award’ (Spatial Arts category) on October 25, awarded by Busan City to individuals dedicated to the development of local culture.

Professor Cho, who is also the Vice President of Dongmyeong University, is an expert in architectural design and academic research. He has contributed to the scholarly and creative advancement of the architectural field through active research and creative activities, including over 70 papers, 20 publications, and numerous architectural works.

Having served as the chairperson of design competition committees for more than 30 public architectural projects nationwide, he has significantly improved and modernized the operation of architectural design competitions. This has led to the creation of public architectural designs that excel in artistry, public value, and regional characteristics, greatly enhancing the level of public architecture in South Korea.

He is also serving as an executive and committee member in various professional organizations such as the Busan Biennale, the Korea Institute of Architects, the Architectural Institute of Korea, the International Union of Architects, and the National Architecture Policy Committee, contributing to the development of architectural culture.
