Understanding the Medical Benefits System Correctly

On the 24th, Yeoju City conducted the "2024 Second Half Medical Benefits System Education and Fraudulent Receipt Prevention Education" for new medical benefits recipients at the Yeoju City Social Community Support Center training hall.

On the 24th, Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it conducted the second half of 2024 medical benefits system education and fraud prevention training for new medical benefit recipients at the Yeoju Social Community Support Center training hall.

The education aimed to provide comprehensive information about the medical benefits system to prevent disadvantages caused by unnecessary medical shopping, prevent drug misuse, promote rational and proper use of medical benefits, and prevent fraudulent claims through mandatory income reporting when income is generated.

The training covered ▲ procedures for using and selecting medical benefit institutions ▲ medical benefit days extension approval system ▲ non-applicable injury factors for medical benefits ▲ support for out-of-pocket expenses such as elderly implants and dentures, nursing care fees, assistive devices for the disabled, and health maintenance costs ▲ special calculation cases ▲ prevention of welfare benefit fraud and guidance on income reporting obligations.

Additionally, the Yeoju Public Health Center promoted health checkups and vaccinations for basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups aged 59 and above (born on or before December 31, 1963) to enhance the health of vulnerable groups.

A city official stated, “Through this education, we hope that new medical benefit recipients will use hospitals and clinics properly, contributing to the health improvement of beneficiaries. We also urged them to fulfill their obligations regarding fraud prevention and income reporting, which is expected to help maintain sound welfare and medical benefit finances. Yeoju City will continue to do its best for low-income groups.”
