The Jungang District Urban Regeneration New Deal Project was selected in 2020 as a public contest project (general neighborhood type) by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The construction of the Eoullim Complex Cultural Center was a project that took a considerable amount of time due to the final approval of the project change from reconstruction to new construction and the preliminary certification of the Barrier-Free (BF) living environment.

The Eoullim Complex Cultural Center will be built on the site of Jungang Market. Construction began this month and is scheduled to be completed by November next year. To secure an entrance for construction equipment on site, the utility poles for Jeonju and telecommunications are being relocated, and after installing safety facilities for civil engineering work, foundation work will proceed.

Lee Gi-seok, Director of Regional Development at Wando-gun, said, “Noise and vibration are expected due to the use of heavy equipment during foundation work. We ask for the residents’ understanding and will do our best to minimize any inconvenience caused by the construction.”
