'Drone Show' at November 1 Content Festival Opening Ceremony
Gathering of Various Characters Including Dooly and Gongpo-ui Oeingudan
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 25th that on November 1st, a record-breaking event featuring 2,025 drones will spectacularly light up the autumn night sky at Ocheon Green Square.
As part of the opening ceremony of the '2024 Global Content Festival in Suncheon' (hereafter referred to as the Content Festival), the drone show will break conventional formats and be produced with a concept utilizing webtoon and animation 'characters.' The official event starts at 7 PM on the 1st, with the character drone show serving as the grand finale of the opening ceremony.

The drone show, making its debut in Suncheon, will fill the skies above Ocheon Green Square with various characters such as ▲Baby Dinosaur Dooly ▲The Fearsome Foreign Baseball Team (Wandering Magpie) ▲Where's Wally, and more.
Dooly, colored like a blue garden, will display dynamic movements waving its hands in sync with its original soundtrack, befitting a K-legend animation. Following this, the mascot Gashigogi from 'Baby Dinosaur Dooly’s Ice Star Adventure' will make a surprise appearance, captivating the audience’s attention. Additionally, characters changing moment by moment against the backdrop of Suncheon’s sky will be sequentially presented over approximately 13 minutes.
Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon said, “Until now, the Content Festival we experienced was all about meeting characters confined to standardized venues, but this time it is different. We have gathered all content such as webtoons, animations, and characters into a garden. Content that has burst out into the garden, and a festival reminiscent of a fairy tale land extending up into the sky, will be created. We ask for the citizens’ great interest and participation.”
Meanwhile, the Content Festival, set to open soon, will be held from November 1 to 3 around Ocheon Green Square, featuring a variety of attractions including ▲OST performances by Solji, An Yae-eun, and Kim Kyung-ho ▲character exhibition and sales zones ▲lectures by invited speakers (writer Yoon Tae-ho, director Eric Oh) ▲and hot air balloon experiences.
