Yeungjin College (President Choi Jae-young) announced on the 25th that the Department of Animal Health conducted an exhibition of field-centered education achievements related to companion animals and held the ‘2nd Animal Health Technician Oath Ceremony and Memorial Service’ during the ‘2024 Yeungjin Comprehensive Exhibition’ period.
At this year’s ‘2024 Yeungjin Comprehensive Exhibition,’ the Department of Animal Health attracted visitors’ attention by displaying ‘handmade snacks’ created by students, considering the safety, health, and nutrition of companion animals.
The Animal Health Department at Yeongjin College held the 'Suhonje' ceremony on the 24th to express gratitude to the practice animals and honor their spirits.
Additionally, the exhibition booth showcased creative and practical ‘pet fashion’ works such as scarves, dolls, and dog clothes, all handmade by students, which received high interest from visitors.
Inside the booth, a ‘Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Experience Zone’ for companion animals’ health was set up, providing visitors with a valuable opportunity to learn how to save dogs in emergency situations by using a dog CPR model.
Meanwhile, the ‘2nd Animal Health Technician Oath Ceremony and Memorial Service’ was held on the afternoon of the 24th in Room 211 of the Cheongmun Hall. During the oath ceremony, students lit candles and read the oath, pledging to dedicate themselves to the protection and welfare improvement of animals as prospective animal health technicians.
Following this, the ‘Memorial Service’ included flower offerings and a moment of silence to express gratitude to the practice animals and honor their spirits.
Baek Dong-hwa, head of the Department of Animal Health at Yeungjin College, said, “Through this event, our students had an opportunity to reaffirm their responsibility and sense of mission as animal health professionals, and it was a meaningful time to remember and honor the animals that contributed to the development of the animal culture industry and veterinary medicine.”
The comprehensive exhibition and events of the Department of Animal Health at Yeungjin College are expected to serve as an opportunity to raise interest in the academic fields and industries related to companion animals.
