Promoting a Culture of Reading and Encouraging Daily Reading Habits
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) will hold a special event titled "Reading on the Road, a Special Moment to Discover Myself" on the 26th at Bukhang Waterfront Park, targeting over 400 participants including students, parents, teachers, and citizens.
This event aims to promote a culture of reading and encourage daily reading habits through the operation of various reading culture contents.
The Busan Office of Education will focus on awakening the joy of reading among participants through diverse programs that involve walking, reading, and thinking in nature.
The event will open with a Taekwondo demonstration performance. This will be followed by a meeting (book talk) with author Lee Young-a, who expresses unique stories of the Busan region through picture books.
Afterwards, participants will walk along the Bukhang scenic waterway, a "Reading on the Road" experience course, and engage in various reading booth activities such as solving reading quizzes, snowball, pin button making, and woodcraft.
Additionally, various attractions such as a "Photo Zone" and "Book Rest Area" have been prepared to allow the educational community to communicate and empathize through books.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This event will be a meaningful time for the educational community to gather in one place and spread the culture of reading," adding, "The city education office will do its best to nurture talents with a harmonious balance of character and intellect through various policies including 'Reading Change.'"
