Busan City will hold the low birthrate response campaign “Children Are Happiness. Busan (The Whole City of Busan Cherishes Like You)” from November 1 to 2 at the Sky Theater and outdoor plaza of the Busan Cinema Center.
“Children Are Happiness. Busan” is a low birthrate response campaign and empathy project aimed at improving awareness of shared parenting and facilitating communication on low birthrate and childcare issues, involving infants, parents, organizations, and citizens in the Busan area.
Notably, this year marks the first time the event is jointly hosted by the city, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and Chosun Ilbo, and held with the participation of various related organizations such as the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Low Fertility and Aging Society Committee, and citizens.
This campaign, carrying the messages “The Whole City of Busan Cherishes Like You” and “Busan, a City Good for Raising and Educating Children,” is composed of a variety of programs including ▲an opening ceremony ▲lectures by experts, celebrities, and parenting mentors ▲performances ▲indoor and outdoor experience programs ▲and a policy empathy zone.
The opening ceremony will be held on November 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sky Theater, starting with an opening performance by the winning team of the “National and Public Daycare Center Infants & Teachers Choir Competition,” followed by the declaration of opening, welcome speech, congratulatory remarks, and an awards ceremony for the contest. About 300 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, key officials, and citizens, are expected to attend to celebrate the opening.
Lecture programs include ▲“Expert and Celebrity Invitation Lectures” by Professor Chosunmi and actress Shin Aera ▲and an “Open Talk Show” with YouTuber Gu Chae-hee and writer Yoo Jeong-im, providing vivid and accurate information necessary for childbirth and childcare and offering a time for empathy.
In the “Expert and Celebrity Invitation Lectures,” Professor Chosunmi and actress Shin Aera will give lectures on the themes “Raising a Child with a Strong Soul” and “Three Principles for Raising My Precious Child,” followed by a Q&A session with participants.
In the “Open Talk Show,” YouTuber Gu Chae-hee, known for finance and childcare, and writer Yoo Jeong-im, who sent her two children to KAIST and Seoul National University, will share vivid childcare and education secrets and freely discuss related topics.
Performance and experience programs will include ▲Pinkfong and Ttunteunsem’s dance party ▲Happiness Plus Balloon & Bubble Show ▲children’s puppet shows ▲Children’s Happiness Costume Parade ▲and an outdoor children’s drawing zone, among various other programs.
At the “Outdoor Children’s Drawing Zone,” the floor of the outdoor plaza at the Busan Cinema Center will be transformed into a sketchbook where children can freely draw to their heart’s content. In the “Children’s Happiness Costume Parade,” children with endless potential will be the stars, enjoying themselves dressed in various costumes such as princes, princesses, cartoon characters, and heroes.
Additionally, cookie making, pet plant care, eco-friendly soap making, face painting, and caricature drawing will be conducted. Especially, the “Children’s Happiness Firefighter Experience Booth” will provide safety education to raise children’s awareness of fire hazards through experiences such as using fire extinguishers.
In the “Policy Empathy Zone,” information on representative childbirth, childcare, and education support policies from the city and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will be provided.
