A teenage female employee working at Walmart in Canada was found dead inside a large oven, prompting a local police investigation. On the 24th (local time), NBC reported, "Around 9:30 p.m. on the 19th, a 19-year-old female employee working in the bakery at Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, was found dead inside a large oven in the store."

The oven in question is large enough for a person to enter and is commonly used in industrial baking environments. Some bakeries use it with special equipment, and most are equipped with safety features to prevent accidents.

According to NBC, the deceased woman and her mother had both worked at Walmart for two years, and it was the mother who first discovered her daughter. At the time, the mother had not seen her daughter for an hour and went looking for her, but asking around was of no help.

They are Sikh believers who recently immigrated from India to Canada in the past few years. The local Sikh community has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden tragedy of the young member. A Sikh organization stated, "The victim’s mother was alarmed because it was unusual for her daughter to turn off her phone during the day," and expressed sympathy, saying, "We can only imagine the horror the mother experienced when she opened the oven herself."

Unconfirmed speculations have circulated on social media regarding the mysterious death, and local police have asked people to consider the psychological pain of the bereaved family and colleagues. They also stated, "The exact circumstances and clear cause of death are not yet known," and "The investigation is complex and involves multiple agencies, so it may take considerable time."

The local labor department has suspended all work involving equipment in the bakery where the incident occurred. Accordingly, Walmart plans to temporarily close the store. A Walmart representative said, "This is very heartbreaking news. We extend our deepest condolences to the family," and added, "We will provide necessary support to protect our employees." Currently, bouquets honoring the deceased employee have been placed in front of the Walmart store where she worked.
