Ambassador Park Jong-seok to Kuwait 8.3 Billion KRW · Presidential Office Secretary Shin Su-jin 7.6 Billion KRW 'Top 1st and 2nd in Assets'

76 High-Ranking Officials Disclose Assets... Lee Jin-sook, Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission, Holds 4.5 Billion Won

The current high-ranking public official with the highest reported assets is Park Jong-seok, Ambassador to Kuwait from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who holds assets worth approximately 8.3 billion KRW. Shin Su-jin, Secretary for Culture and Sports at the Presidential Office, reported assets worth about 7.6 billion KRW, ranking second.


The Government Official Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Personnel Management disclosed on the 25th, through the official gazette, the assets of 76 high-ranking officials whose status changed between July 2 and August 1 this year.


Ambassador Park to Kuwait reported assets totaling 8,380,370,000 KRW. He owns a detached house in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, jointly registered with his mother, valued at 2,640,710,000 KRW, land worth 2,515,640,000 KRW, and an apartment in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, under his name valued at 2,027,000,000 KRW, among other properties.


Secretary Shin of the Presidential Office reported total assets of 7,628,690,000 KRW, including stocks under her name worth 3,119,650,000 KRW, an apartment in Hangang-ro 3-ga, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, valued at 2,278,000,000 KRW, and deposits amounting to 1,810,290,000 KRW.


Kim Won-seop, Director of Chungbuk National University Hospital, reported assets totaling 7,238,980,000 KRW, including land in Gyeongseo-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, registered under his spouse’s name, valued at 2,719,230,000 KRW, and buildings jointly owned by him and his spouse worth 1,362,730,000 KRW.


Lee Jin-sook, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, reported assets totaling 4,479,660,000 KRW, including an apartment in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with her spouse, valued at 2,859,000,000 KRW. Minister Kim Wan-seop of the Ministry of Environment holds assets worth 2,615,820,000 KRW.


Yu Hye-mi, Senior Secretary for Low Birthrate Response at the Presidential Office, and spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon reported assets of 2,201,900,000 KRW and 2,251,780,000 KRW, respectively.


Among retirees, former Chairperson Kim Hong-il of the Korea Communications Commission reported the highest assets at 6,271,770,000 KRW. Former President Lee Yong-hoon of Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology and former Vice Minister Moon Seung-hyun of the Ministry of Unification reported 5,066,670,000 KRW and 4,944,710,000 KRW, respectively, following closely behind.
