Gwangju Buk-gu, Lifelong Learning City for the Disabled 'Performance Sharing Meeting'

On the 24th, Buk-gu, Gwangju announced that it will hold the '2024 Disabled Lifelong Learning City Performance Sharing Meeting' on the afternoon of the 28th at Justice Hall in Gwangju Solomon Law Park.


This event was prepared to share the achievements of the Buk-gu disabled lifelong learning city operation project carried out throughout this year with residents and to discuss the development direction of disabled lifelong learning policies.


Under the theme of 'Gradually Blooming Flowers,' the event will be attended by about 100 participants including Buk-gu disabled lifelong learning program participants and related organization officials, featuring an 'Opening Performance,' 'Congratulatory Performance,' and 'Project Performance Presentation.'


Additionally, 'Healing Experience Booths' such as ▲Making Braille Bookmarks ▲Knitting Strap Making ▲Healing Aroma Experience ▲Body Painting, and a 'Special Promotion Booth' where visitors can view lifelong learning works from 13 related disabled organizations will be set up.


Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "This event will be an opportunity to confirm the results our district has achieved in establishing a disability-friendly lifelong learning system and realizing a disabled lifelong learning city. Lifelong learning is an essential virtue for people with disabilities to enhance social participation capabilities and independent living skills, so we will continue to do our best to establish a human rights-based lifelong learning city where the lifelong learning rights of people with disabilities are firmly guaranteed."


Meanwhile, since being selected as a 'Disabled Lifelong Learning City' by the Ministry of Education in 2022, Buk-gu has participated in the disabled lifelong learning city operation contest project for three consecutive years, implementing various policies such as 'Designation of Disabled Hub Lifelong Education Institutions and Independence Programs,' 'Activation of Disabled Clubs,' and 'Support for Disabled Families.'
