Seven Domestic Institutions Join Forces to Innovate Aerospace and Defense Material Industry

Yangsan City and Gyeongnam Province held a "Business Agreement Ceremony for the Development and Demonstration Project of Ultra-Differentiated Technology for Aerospace and Defense Sealant Materials" at Yangsan City Hall on the afternoon of the 24th.

At the ceremony, a total of seven organizations, including Yangsan City and Gyeongnam Province, participated with the purpose of developing aerospace and defense sealant technology. The participating organizations include Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea Conformity Laboratories, Korea Aerospace Industries, Noroo Paint, and Saeron Tech.

This agreement aims to consolidate the capabilities possessed by each organization and establish a practical cooperation system to play a leading role in future industries. In particular, innovative technology development in the field of sealant materials is expected to contribute to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the defense and aerospace industries. Through this, it is anticipated to greatly help the growth of the aerospace and defense industry in the Gyeongnam region and the revitalization of the local economy, including the creation of quality jobs.

Not only Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea Conformity Laboratories, Noroo Paint, Saeron Tech, and Korea Aerospace Industries, which participated in the agreement, but also seven universities and research institutes responsible for project execution?Seoul National University, Gyeongsang National University, Pusan National University, Korea University, Green Chemical, Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, and Korea Institute of Science and Technology?will cooperate in their respective specialized fields to focus on research and development of aerospace and defense sealant materials. Sealant materials are special materials that guarantee stability even in extreme environments such as high and low temperatures, and are essential in the aerospace and defense industries.

Through this demonstration project, Yangsan City is expected to establish itself as a hub for next-generation industrial innovation, and Gyeongnam Province will also play a leading role in new industry sectors. Gyeongnam Province and Yangsan City plan to continuously cooperate and provide administrative and financial support to develop the local materials industry through this collaboration.

Thus, Yangsan City plans to strengthen its position in the aerospace and defense materials industry and establish a cooperative system with various industrial sectors from the early development stages, presenting a model industrial example nationwide.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon said, "This agreement will be an important turning point in enhancing the national-level self-reliance of defense industry technology," and added, "We expect the participating organizations to create mutual synergy and successfully carry out the project."
