From Half-Price Food Discounts to Daily Super Deals and 990 Won Uniform Prices
Overlapping with SSG Day Period...Similar Discount Items
Lotte Mart and Lotte Super will hold 'Thank You Festival,' Lotte's first integrated grocery-focused discount event, from the 31st of this month to the 13th of next month. As their competitor Shinsegae announced a large-scale discount event with all affiliates, including Emart, participating for SSG Day, Lotte is also launching a new integrated discount event to counter it.
According to Lotte Shopping on the 25th, the Thank You Festival is an online and offline integrated event involving Lotte Mart, Lotte Super, warehouse-type mart Lotte Mart MAXX, and the online channel Lotte Mart Mall. These are affiliates responsible for the grocery business within Lotte Shopping. This event was planned to express gratitude to customers on the occasion of Lotte Shopping's 45th anniversary.
Lotte Mart and Lotte Super emphasized that through integration synergy between business units, they have prepared the Thank You Festival as the largest scale and with the greatest benefits this year. They will offer more than twice the usual number of items at prices discounted up to 70%. The target items include essential foodstuffs, alcoholic beverages, daily necessities, and household goods. Additionally, a discount coupon giveaway event will be held on the largest scale this year.
In the first week of the Thank You Festival (October 31 to November 6), Lotte Mart will hold an event offering popular fresh food items at up to 50% discount. On Hanwoo Day (November 1), all first-grade Hanwoo beef products will be sold at a 50% discount. Popular food items such as Russian live king crab, Gangyeot chicken gangjeong, and half-price sushi will also be offered at half price. In processed foods, daily necessities, and household goods categories, more than twice the usual number of items will be available with 1+1 and 50% discount benefits.
They will also hold a daily special discount event called 'Thank You! One Day Special.' Along with items discounted up to 70%, a variety of products at the lowest prices of the year will be offered. Essential foodstuffs and daily necessities are selected as event items even in the special discount event. Considering customers' preference for ultra-low-priced products, a uniform price event called 'Ttaengjeon Deal' is also prepared, selling various products at 990 won.
Furthermore, the 'Thank You Festival Discount Coupon Giveaway Event' will be held from one week before the event starts until the event ends. Until the 30th, an early bird coupon pack worth up to 22,000 won will be provided on the Lotte Mart Mall event page. The early bird coupon pack can be used at Lotte Mart, Lotte Super, MAXX, and Lotte Mart Mall during the Thank You Festival period.
During the Thank You Festival, discount coupons for each sales channel will be provided daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the Lotte Mart Mall event page. Customers who newly sign up for the proprietary app 'Lotte Mart GO' will receive an additional coupon pack worth up to 29,000 won.

Lotte's launch of the Thank You Festival is interpreted as a response to the competitor retail giant Shinsegae's SSG Day. The Thank You Festival period (October 31 to November 13) overlaps with the SSG Day event period. Shinsegae previously announced that SSG Day will be held from the 1st to the 10th of next month. This is the longest period in SSG Day history and the first time it includes two weekends.
The grocery-focused discount items are also similar to Shinsegae's Emart. Emart announced that for SSG Day, from the 1st to the 3rd of next month, all Hanwoo beef products will be discounted up to 50%, a 60-egg pack of Ipanran (eggs) will be priced at 8,980 won, and Russian snow crab will be offered at the lowest price of the year. The fact that discounts are provided regardless of online or offline channels and through affiliate synergy also overlaps with SSG Day.
