26th Gwandaeri Jazz Festival, 26-27th Hachuri Dorikkae Festival Also Scheduled
The last weekend of October in Inje-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Choi Sang-gi), is covered with various festivals that deeply evoke the feeling of autumn.
On Saturday the 26th, the "2nd Gwandaeri Jazz Festival" will be held throughout the Gwandaeri village area. The Gwandaeri Jazz Festival, first held last year, received great responses from visitors with emotional jazz melodies resonating in the beautiful nature around Soyangho Lake and various foods and programs that anyone can enjoy.
This year, jazz musicians such as Sowatnolla, Moon Mihyang, and Quartet will participate, presenting free-spirited music and offering diverse enjoyment.
Along with this, the "2024 Hachuri Dorikkae Festival" will be held on October 26 and 27 at Hachuri Mountain Village. This festival, sharing the joy of autumn harvest, will feature dorikkae performances reenacting old rural threshing methods such as dorikkae beating and kigil, providing visitors with unique sights.
Additionally, Ganggangsullae (traditional Korean circle dance), sky lantern flying, and traditional Korean music and Nanta performances to boost excitement will be prepared for residents and visitors to enjoy together.
The Hachuri Mountain Village, where the festival takes place, operates distinctive experience programs such as cooking rice in a cauldron, making tofu, and solo mountain village trips. The village’s specialty mixed grains boast excellent taste and quality and are popular both online and offline.
Meanwhile, an event for harmony between local residents and military personnel has also been prepared. The "Bukmyeon Harmony Cultural Festival" will be held on October 27 at the grassy plaza of Wontong Sports and Culture Center.
Starting with the military enlistment eve event, the Harmony Cultural Festival is themed as a festival where military personnel and local residents come together. It will feature presentations of Bukmyeon residents’ autonomous programs and experience booths, followed by invited singer performances by Eunga-eun, Jiwon-i, ICU, and others.
An official from Inje-gun stated, “We will continue to support the successful hosting of local festivals where residents harmonize and tourists can enjoy together.”
