Held annually around October 24... Led by peer counseling students
Helps prevent school violence and foster a supportive school culture
Pyeongchang Middle School (Principal Yoon So-young) peer counselors, together with the Pyeongchang-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center and the Out-of-School Youth Counseling and Welfare Center (Director Park Geum-seong), held Apple Day on the 24th to improve peer relationships among students and prevent school violence.
Peer counseling students at Pyeongchang Middle School in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, are promoting Apple Day (a day for two people to apologize and reconcile) on October 24 by handing out gifts to students on their way to school. Apple Day is a day for "two (2) to apologize (4) to each other and reconcile," where students apologize to those who may have been hurt by them and send apples as a symbol, promoting reconciliation and forgiveness. It is held annually around October 24.
Pyeongchang Middle School peer counselors distributed prepared gifts in front of the school’s main gate during students’ arrival time and promoted Apple Day and peer counseling. The peer counselors said, “It was rewarding because the friends were very happy,” and “Through Apple Day, we had time to understand each other.”
Pyeongchang Middle School operates weekly classes to help students adapt to school and maintain psychological stability, and activates the peer counseling club to prevent school violence and support a school culture where youth help each other.
The Pyeongchang-gun Youth Counseling and Welfare Center provides ongoing counseling and emergency support for youth in crisis and offers various support services to youth in the Pyeongchang area.
