Damyang-gun to Host 'Santa Festival' on December 24-25 at Jungang-ro
Jellanam-do Damyang-gun announced on the 24th that it will hold the "6th Damyang Santa Festival" with various programs for two days from December 24 to 25 along Jungang-ro.
This year's Santa Festival slogan is "Jungang-ro 56, Invitation to Winter Magic," and the county plans to offer visitors a special winter experience through the festival.
"Jungang-ro 56" is the nearby road address where the main stage is set up, making it easy for tourists to find the festival site by searching this address.
The unique feature of the Santa Festival is operating Jungang-ro in Damyang-eup, the main stage street, as a "Car-Free Santa Street." The Santa Street will be open for a month from December 1 to 31. The street is divided into four zones, providing visitors with various winter scenes, encounters with Santa, character parades, and diverse performances. Additionally, during the festival, there will be a program that reimburses entrance tickets to Juknokwon and Metasequoia Road with coupons, encouraging tourists to purchase local specialties and food, thereby revitalizing the local economy.
On the first day of the festival, along with the opening ceremony, the "Santa Time Capsule" event will be held. In this event, visitors to the festival can put nostalgic items or messages into Santa's pouch or gift box, which will then be delivered to the main stage and sealed. The stored time capsule can be opened at the next year's Santa Festival.
The county plans to create various night view photo zones during the festival and set up food sales areas using local specialties to create a festival atmosphere that delights all five senses.
Lee Byeong-no, the mayor of Damyang-gun, said, "This year's Santa Festival will offer unforgettable memories to tourists with diverse programs and a warm winter atmosphere," and added, "We hope everyone enjoys a special winter with family and friends."
