Hanbit Lee, Jangheum Lee, Ruda Lee, and Jinwook Lee, four first-year students at Cheongshim International Middle School, delivered scholarships for children and adolescents from vulnerable groups to the Namyangju Welfare Foundation on the 23rd. Four first-year students of Cheongshim International Middle School, Hanbit Lee, Jangheum Lee, Ruda Lee, and Jinwook Lee, donated a scholarship of 300,000 KRW to the Namyangju Welfare Foundation (CEO Won Byung-il) on the 23rd for children and adolescents from vulnerable groups.
According to Namyangju City on the 24th, this donation was made after the students won the Excellence Award at the 11th Infinite Imagination Science Exploration Survival Competition and decided to give back part of the prize money to the local community.
This competition is the only nationwide event where students directly experience the entire process from idea generation to exploration, improvement, and realization. The students of Cheongshim International Middle School achieved excellent results in the national finals.
The students decided to share the prize money they earned through their efforts with the local community. Of the 700,000 KRW prize money, 400,000 KRW will be used as a development fund for Cheongshim International Middle School, and the remaining 300,000 KRW will be used for support projects for vulnerable groups within Namyangju City.
Jeon Seong-eun, principal of Cheongshim International Middle School, said, “It is a great joy that the students received the Excellence Award, but I am even prouder that they meaningfully used part of the prize money for school development and community welfare,” adding, “We will continue to promote sharing education so that students can realize social values.”
Won Byung-il, CEO of the Namyangju Welfare Foundation, expressed deep gratitude to the students of Cheongshim International Middle School for practicing warm sharing for neighbors in need, saying, “The students’ warm hearts and sharing will be a great example for the local community.”
