Gwangyang City to Hold 'Jungheungsanseong Ssangsaja Stone Lantern Exhibition'

Until November 22 at Seoul National University Nambu Practice Forest Residence
50 Artists Express Hope to Restore Ssangsaja Stone Lantern to Its Original Place

Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 24th that it will hold the "Exhibition of the Jungheungsanseong Twin Lion Stone Lantern Expressed on Ceramic Plates" at the Gwangyang Seoul National University Southern Training Forest Residence until November 22.


In July, the city received great responses from citizens by holding a special lecture on the historical value of the national treasure Jungheungsanseong Twin Lion Stone Lantern along with a hands-on event titled "Reproducing the Twin Lion Stone Lantern with Ceramics."

Gwangyang City to Hold 'Jungheungsanseong Ssangsaja Stone Lantern Exhibition' Gwangyang City is holding the "Jungheung Fortress Twin Lion Stone Lantern Exhibition" at the Gwangyang Seoul National University Southern Training Forest Residence until November 22.

This exhibition will showcase ceramic works created by 50 people from 15 families of Gwangyang citizens, expressing their wishes for the restoration of the Twin Lion Stone Lantern to its original place.


Kim Myung-deok, Director of the Culture and Arts Division of Gwangyang City, said, "The project to restore the Twin Lion Stone Lantern to its original place requires strong social consensus on its necessity," adding, "Since the response to the July program reproducing the Twin Lion Stone Lantern with ceramics was enthusiastic, we hope that this exhibition, filled with the citizens' wishes, will spread interest and consensus about the restoration project to all citizens."
