Pocheon-si Gwanin Small Library Renovated... Rebooting as a Hub of Local Culture Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, is giving a greeting at the reopening ceremony held after completing the interior remodeling work of Gwanin Small Library on the 23rd.

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 24th that it held a reopening ceremony after completing the interior remodeling of Gwanin Small Library on the 23rd.


The reopening ceremony was attended by Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Yoon Chung-sik, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Kim Jung-geun, Regional Head of KB Kookmin Bank, Kim Soo-yeon, CEO of the Association for People Making Small Libraries, heads of institutions and organizations in Gwanin-myeon, and residents. The event also featured a "Book Reading Bus" storytelling experience program for daycare children.


Gwanin Small Library opened in March 2006 and has been operated for 18 years to enhance the cultural welfare of local residents. Through this remodeling project, old furniture was replaced and the interior space was improved to create a safer and more comfortable reading environment.


This project was carried out with a total budget of 85 million KRW, including 15 million KRW sponsorship from KB Kookmin Bank and 6 million KRW from provincial funds. Through this, Gwanin Small Library will provide a high-quality reading environment for local residents.


Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “We are grateful to KB Kookmin Bank and the Association for People Making Small Libraries for their help in refurbishing Gwanin Small Library. We hope the newly renovated library will become a center of reading culture in the local community and a stepping stone toward becoming a refined humanities city.”
