- A Prestigious Silver Town Located in Pyeongchang-dong, GongppaTV Residency Experience
- GongppaTV to Hold Seminars for the Public on November 9 and 16 at 'Pyeongchang County'
Amid growing interest in silver towns centered on the retired generation, ‘Pyeongchang County’ by KB Golden Life Care, located in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, has signed a marketing agreement with GongppaTV, a YouTuber with 230,000 subscribers and an expert on silver towns.
GongppaTV, with 235,000 subscribers, is a senior housing specialized channel that provides the public with information about senior towns both domestically and internationally. In early September, as part of the full-scale marketing of KB Golden Life Care’s ‘Pyeongchang County,’ it was introduced on the GongppaTV channel.
In particular, GongppaTV expressed concerns and worries in previous YouTube broadcasts and various interviews about the shortage of silver towns in South Korea that allow residents aged 80 and above. They highly evaluated KB Golden Life Care’s ‘Pyeongchang County’ for not imposing age restrictions on elderly residents.
According to GongppaTV, “As countries become more developed, the age groups for silver towns are segmented, and there are many facilities available for various age groups. We entered into this marketing agreement because the senior housing market in South Korea also needs more facilities that elderly people aged 80 and above can use.” They added, “Through this residency experience, we will review the services currently operated at Pyeongchang County and strive to provide better quality services for residents.”
A representative from Pyeongchang County also stated, “We expect this cooperation to be greatly helpful in providing an objective evaluation and suggestions for development directions of Pyeongchang County from an external senior expert’s perspective, rather than an internal viewpoint.”
Meanwhile, GongppaTV announced that it will hold a ‘seminar for the general public’ during the residency at Pyeongchang County. Until now, senior town seminars were conducted only for experts, but this will be the first time for the general public. The seminar will cover nationwide silver town analysis, how to choose a silver town that fits one’s financial capacity, and a tour of ‘Pyeongchang County’ (facility and housing visits, meal experience).
The seminar is scheduled for two days, November 9 and 16, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. It will cover detailed pros and cons of domestic silver towns that were not fully discussed in the videos. Applications are currently being accepted through the GongppaTV YouTube channel. The first seminar registration has already closed early, and the second seminar is recruiting participants on a first-come, first-served basis. They also stated that they will further expand seminars and consulting for the general public to deliver accurate information about silver towns to the public in the future.
‘Pyeongchang County’ is the first silver town introduced by KB Golden Life Care, offering comfortable residential facilities for the elderly that provide an environment like ‘home,’ gaining much attention. Notably, it does not set an upper age limit for elderly residents and offers facilities and professional senior care services that allow anyone to enjoy their later years comfortably.
Additionally, ‘Pyeongchang County’ provides professional care from KB Golden Life Care, the specialized operator. Combining the special care know-how accumulated from operating Wirye Village and Seocho Village, it is presented as a professional specialized residential facility with very high trustworthiness. Moreover, the Eunpyeong, Gwanggyo, and Gangdong Villages currently under construction are scheduled to open in 2025.
To reduce the initial financial burden on residents, ‘Pyeongchang County’ allows choosing a deposit starting from 30 million KRW. Compared to major silver towns in Seoul where deposits range from 400 million to 900 million KRW, this is a very reasonable amount. Furthermore, deposit options have been expanded to 230 million KRW and 330 million KRW. Depending on the resident’s financial situation, if monthly payments are burdensome, increasing the deposit can reduce the monthly burden.
In addition, its location in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, in the heart of Seoul, is also highly regarded as ideal for elderly residents. It meets the needs of elderly people who do not want to move far from their original neighborhoods or be separated from their children. It also offers excellent access to major hospitals such as Korea University Anam Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital, and Yonsei Severance Hospital, all within 20 minutes by car.
Moreover, the surrounding area offers a healthy living environment harmonized with nature. Upon entering the rooftop garden, residents can enjoy unobstructed green views with Bukhansan Mountain to the north and Bugaksan Mountain to the south. Also, the ‘Bukhansan Dullegil Trail Section 6 (Pyeongchang Village Trail)’ is nearby, making it great for walks.
The interior facilities are arranged with community spaces essential for the senior generation, creating a safe and relaxing environment. There is a movie theater for enjoying films, a luxury spa for healing body and mind, and the KB Restaurant offering balanced meals, allowing residents to enjoy a leisurely lifestyle within the facility.
