"Pilots Are Angry... Stop Lying" Content Written
There are claims that fighter bomber pilots deployed to thwart Russia's invasion operation in Kursk Oblast, Russia, sent a "bomb letter" to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The letter contains complaints that "life allowances have not been properly settled."
On the 23rd (local time), the online media outlet Newsweek cited a statement from an open-source intelligence (OSINT) account on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the growing wage-related conflicts within Russia. The account is known as an expert analyzing various information about the Russia-Ukraine war, and recently claimed to have obtained images of the "bomb letter" delivered near the Ministry of Defense building by Russian fighter bomber pilots.

The bomb letter was created by writing a message on the exterior of a glide bomb dropped from an aircraft to the ground. The letter begins, "To the Russian Ministry of Defense. I am a 226kg bomb of the Russian Air Force," and continues, "I am about to fly toward the Ukrainian soldiers who have occupied Kursk."
It then warns, "But my pilots are currently very angry," adding, "Since last August, the pilots have not received bonuses for operations. Resolve this immediately."
Additionally, a postscript reads, "Mistakes can happen. But do not lie." In other words, if the failure to properly settle bonuses was a simple mistake, it might be overlooked, but if the promised allowances are not paid until the end, this is a veiled threat to be prepared.
The media explained, "The Russian government promised soldiers enormous salary packages to secure more troops," but "even as the war approaches its third year, some soldiers and their families appear not to have received the promised pay."
Meanwhile, on August 6, the Ukrainian military invaded the Russian territory of Kursk and occupied the area. Since then, Russian forces have deployed troops to retake the occupied territory, and fierce battles have ensued as the Ukrainian military launched counterattacks.
