4 Small and Medium Enterprises in Ulju-gun Receive Government Awards at the SME Convergence Expo

Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 24th that four local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) received government awards at the 2024 Small Business Convergence Expo, co-hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Gwangju City at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.

Now in its 11th year, the Small Business Convergence Expo is an annual event that showcases innovative achievements created through technology exchange, convergence, and collaboration among companies, and honors outstanding contributors.

At this year’s expo, Ulju-gun’s awardees included Jeongwon Machinery Co., Ltd. (CEO Won Kyung-yeon), DS Gas Tech Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Mu-jae), Keyzone Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Seung-hee), and iChemical Co., Ltd. (CEO Hong Seong-ho).

In the technology convergence category, DS Gas Tech CEO Lee Mu-jae received the Presidential Citation, and Keyzone CEO Lee Seung-hee was awarded the Minister of SMEs and Startups Citation. In the open innovation category, iChemical CEO Hong Seong-ho received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Citation.

Jeongwon Machinery CEO Won Kyung-yeon was honored with the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit in recognition of his contributions to cultivating technological capabilities and promoting innovative growth, fostering youth employment and regional development, and serving as a leader in technology convergence.

CEO Won Kyung-yeon said, “I believe this award is the result of the efforts of all our employees, and I will strive even harder for the development of the domestic manufacturing industry, which is a foundational industry in Korea. As the president of the Ulju-gun Small Business Council, I will also continue to take the lead in revitalizing the local economy.”

County Governor Lee Soon-geol congratulated the awarded companies, saying, “I extend my congratulations to the companies that have greatly contributed to the economic development of Ulju-gun. We will do our best to make Ulju-gun a business-friendly area to attract more excellent companies in the future.”
