They toured the construction site of the 'Jangbogo-III Batch-II submarine,' Hanwha Ocean's technical training institute for skilled personnel, and research facilities developing automated equipment. They also experienced a VR painting simulation integrated with cutting-edge technology.

Hanwha Ocean explained to the Polish Naval Academy officials not only its world-class submarine construction technology but also the training plans for crew members and maintenance personnel to ensure the Polish Navy's stable submarine operation capabilities. The delegation from the Polish Naval Academy and Hanwha Ocean exchanged opinions on cooperation related to the Polish submarine acquisition project.

Hanwha Ocean's Defense Research Center continuously strengthens its competitiveness in the shipbuilding and marine defense sectors through the latest technology research and innovation. Based on this, Hanwha Ocean explored the possibility of long-term joint research and development (R&D) cooperation with the Polish Naval Academy.

The Polish Naval Academy is responsible for training officers who will lead the future of its navy while conducting various R&D activities in the marine defense sector. In particular, it possesses research organizations and various testing facilities for defense technology and is conducting independent R&D in various fields, including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs).

Thomas Szubrik, principal of the Polish Naval Academy, stated, "I was deeply impressed by Hanwha Ocean's submarine training roadmap and state-of-the-art submarine production capabilities," adding, "It was a valuable time for broad industrial development cooperation in the maritime sector between the two countries, including the Orka submarine project."

Meanwhile, Hanwha Ocean is expanding cooperation with local companies to secure the Orka project, which involves the acquisition of three submarines by Poland. It signed a memorandum of understanding for submarine business cooperation with the Polish defense group WB and is developing plans to contribute to the development of Poland's shipbuilding and related industries through localization of submarine MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) and technology transfer in collaboration with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises with solid technological capabilities.
