YouTube Views Surpass 100 Million
Ros? "Happy and Encouraged by All the Love"
YG Plus Stock Also Soars
Group BLACKPINK member Ros? and American pop star Bruno Mars' music video for "Apartment" (APT.) has surpassed 100 million views.
According to Ros?'s agency The Black Label on the 23rd, the music video for "Apartment," released as the pre-release single from Ros?'s first solo full-length album "rosie" on the 18th, exceeded 100 million views on YouTube that day. As of 8 a.m. on the 24th, it has surpassed 110 million views. The music video, featuring Ros? and pop star Bruno Mars, attracted attention with its witty visuals and surpassed 25 million views within 24 hours of its release.
"Apartment," which Ros? directly participated in producing, was inspired by the "Apartment game," a drinking game widely known in Korea. Participants chant together, "A~part A part A~part A part," and when one person mentions a specific number, everyone stacks their hands. Then, the participant whose hand is on the mentioned number (apartment floor) must perform the penalty of drinking alcohol. Ros? said, "It is a song naturally created while having fun in the studio, based on a game I usually enjoy with friends. I am truly moved and grateful that so many people are listening to and enjoying it together." She added, "Honestly, I had many worries and concerns, but I feel happy and encouraged because it seems to be loved so much."
"Apartment" is also making a mark on domestic music charts. Immediately after its release, it achieved a "Perfect All-Kill (PAK)" by ranking first on the top 100 charts of music sites such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, and VIBE. It also took first place on the Spotify U.S. chart and ranked number one on iTunes charts in a total of 40 regions, gaining global popularity. Following the "Apartment fever," YG PLUS's stock price rose 69% in two days on the 23rd. Additionally, YG Entertainment and Genie Music also benefited, rising 8% and 19%, respectively.
