Psychological Warfare Videos in Korean Also Begin Airing
"Prisoner Camps Provide Meat, Vegetables, Bread"
The Ukrainian military has launched a 'psychological warfare' campaign targeting North Korean soldiers scheduled to be deployed to Russia. They have created and distributed Korean-language videos promising food and shelter to those who surrender.
On the 23rd (local time), a closed social networking service (SNS) channel on Telegram called 'I Want to Live' was active. This channel was originally a psychological warfare outlet used by the Ukrainian military targeting Russian soldiers willing to surrender. It persuaded young Russians forcibly dragged into the war to surrender and provided safe escape routes to Ukraine.

Now, the channel also posts videos in Korean (Munhwaeo). In one video, it says, "Surrender! Ukraine will provide shelter, food, and warmth," showing prisoner detention facilities.
The channel emphasized, "Prisoners in the detention center receive three meals a day, including meat, fresh vegetables, and bread." At the end of the video, messenger and phone contact information, as well as QR codes for contacting the Ukrainian military upon surrender, were displayed.
The Korean in the video appears somewhat awkward, likely translated using software. The channel name was directly translated as 'I Want to Live,' and sentences with incorrect word order such as "Save life to myself" were also shown.
Meanwhile, recently, the National Intelligence Service revealed that North Korea could deploy more than 10,000 troops to Russia. Ukrainian intelligence agencies have also released additional evidence, urging the international community for support.
In the United States, for the first time on the same day, remarks acknowledging North Korean troop deployment to Russia were made. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, during a visit to Rome, Italy, told reporters, "There is evidence that North Korean troops are in Russia." NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) also stated in a press release, "Allied countries have confirmed evidence of North Korea's troop deployment to Russia."
