On the 23rd (local time), Apple announced that it will officially distribute the new iPhone operating system, iOS 18.1, next week. iOS 18.1 includes some functions of Apple's AI system called 'Apple Intelligence.'

This version allows call recording and can convert and summarize recordings into text. It helps users quickly grasp the key points of long emails and places important notifications, including emails, at the top of the screen for easy recognition. It can also automatically identify and remove distractions in photos.

The AI voice assistant 'Siri' has become smarter. Apple stated that even if users make mistakes or change their sentences midway, Siri can understand what the user actually intended to say through context.

Along with this, Apple announced that it will release a beta (test) version of the more advanced iOS 18.2 to some developers and others in a preview form. It is scheduled to be distributed to general users later this year.

iOS 18.2 includes major features of Apple Intelligence. First, OpenAI's ChatGPT is integrated, allowing Siri to provide answers to complex questions or problems using ChatGPT.

If Siri determines that ChatGPT's response is more suitable for a user's specific question, it will present the answer through ChatGPT with the user's permission.

It also includes features that allow users to create new emojis and automatically generate images based on user-input text or specific requirements. When users select certain text, they can change the tone or make sentences more concise.

The function that allows Siri to perform tasks within specific apps, such as sending messages to friends or changing music playback modes according to user commands, will be added later.

Meanwhile, Apple Intelligence is expected to operate only on iPhone 15 Pro models and above, which were released last year.
