Hwaseong City - Democratic Party Hwaseong Byeong, Party-Government Council Meeting Held

Discussion on Current Issues in Cultural Arts, Sports Facilities, and Transportation

On the 23rd, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it held a party-government council meeting with the Hwaseong Byeong District Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea at Hwaseong Citizens' University to discuss local issues.

At the meeting attended by Kwon Chil-seung, member of the National Assembly and chairman of the Hwaseong Byeong District Committee, Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, provincial and city council members, and related officials, the city explained that they discussed cultural, artistic, and sports facilities, as well as improvements in transportation and living environment.


During the meeting, the party and government agreed to continuously promote the 'Jinan District Technopol Development' to establish the Technopol Hub Town and secure urban self-sufficiency functions. Regarding the 'Hwaseong City History Museum,' which is currently undergoing a feasibility study, the project will be carried out in phases with the goal of opening in 2031.


Regarding the 'Cultural and Arts Town' planned on the idle land of the Agricultural and Fisheries University, it was decided to finalize the development direction and the facilities to be introduced by the first half of next year through citizen opinion gathering and party-government discussions.


The meeting also discussed agendas including ▲ the creation of Gungsu Field in Hwasan-dong ▲ establishment of living sports facilities ▲ promotion of Byeongjeom Station complex transfer center ▲ expansion of the parking lot at Daram Mountain Park in Jinan-dong ▲ reorganization of Bongdam Lake Park ▲ succession of Jeongjo culture and creation of a tourism belt ▲ promotion of cultural idle space regeneration contest projects ▲ expansion of sidewalks at the starting point of Yunggeolleung-Old Road ▲ installation of a shared school citizen-use complex facility at Jinan Middle School ▲ maintenance of Donghwa Stream at the lower part of Bongdam Lake Park ▲ promotion of the Mamdaero A+ Playground contest project ▲ employment support for slow learners ▲ remodeling of Byeongjeom Neighborhood Park ▲ and creation of a barefoot trail at the Ecological Sports Park.


During the meeting, Mayor Jeong also requested cooperation from the district committee for securing national funding to build the 'Metropolitan Area Safety Experience Education Center.'


Assemblyman Kwon said, "I will continue to communicate to ensure that the decisions made and directions discussed at the meeting proceed without any setbacks." Mayor Jeong said, "Since financial difficulties are expected next year, I ask for active cooperation to secure national and provincial funding."
