Expansion of Citizen Healing Spaces
Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok is walking barefoot on the "Hwanggeumsan Cultural Park Barefoot Walking Path" on the 23rd, inspecting the facilities. On the 23rd, Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok conducted a policy field tour at the Hwanggeumsan area in Jigeum-dong, inspecting the barefoot walking path and the site of the infant forest experience center project.
The city had earlier created barefoot walking paths in the Hwanggeumsan forest trail and cultural park as part of the 'Barefoot Walking Healing Road' project launched in June.
The barefoot walking paths in Hwanggeumsan and Hwanggeumsan Cultural Park are characterized by excellent accessibility due to their urban location and by preserving the surrounding scenery to the greatest extent possible.
Aiming for a nature-friendly forest trail, the city improved facilities by maintaining the surface and installing safety ropes on naturally formed hiking trails around Hwanggeumsan, creating barefoot walking paths where citizens can walk safely and comfortably.
In particular, Hwanggeumsan Cultural Park, which features an infant forest experience center, orchard experience center, and forest walking trails and attracts many family visitors, completed the creation of a 200-meter dirt barefoot walking path within the park on the 14th.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, who visited the site that day, walked barefoot around the Hwanggeumsan area, inspected the facilities, and took time to communicate with citizens while reviewing additional supplementation and improvement measures.
Mayor Joo stated, “I believe the best solutions can be found when meeting and communicating directly with citizens on site,” adding, “We will continuously manage the paths so that citizens can use them without inconvenience and do our best to enhance citizen satisfaction with the barefoot walking paths to be developed in the future.”
Following this, Mayor Joo toured the reorganization site of the Hwanggeumsan infant forest experience center and urged, “Please make every effort to create a space where children can play safely and the whole family can comfortably enjoy.”
The city plans to further develop the barefoot walking paths based on future user satisfaction surveys and continue ongoing management and promotion efforts.
