First Meeting of Heads of 6 Cities and Districts and Council Chairpersons
Discussion on 2025 Projects and Exploration of Cooperation Methods
The Nakdong River Council (Chairman Na Dong-yeon, Mayor of Yangsan) held a meeting on the 23rd in Buk-gu, Busan, together with the chairpersons of the city and district councils of six local governments in Busan and Gyeongnam.
This meeting was organized to promote the joint development of the Nakdong River basin and to discuss and explore cooperation plans for projects to be implemented in 2025. In particular, this meeting was especially meaningful as it was the first time since the launch of the Nakdong River Council that the heads of the six cities and districts and the chairpersons of the city and district councils gathered together for the development of the Nakdong River basin.
The meeting was attended by the chairpersons of the city and district councils of Yangsan and Gimhae in Gyeongnam, and Buk-gu, Saha-gu, Gangseo-gu, and Sasang-gu in Busan, focusing on building a consensus for regional development. There was also time for explanations, Q&A, and sharing opinions on major projects such as ▲Mobile Stamp Tour ▲Nakdong River FESTA festival events ▲Establishment of development strategies for the Nakdong River basin ▲The 3rd Nakdong River Council Park Golf Tournament.
On that day, the city and district council chairpersons listened to the project explanations, proposed various ideas and cooperation plans for joint development, and did not forget to urge efforts for sustainable development and revitalization of the local economy for a better life for residents of the six cities and districts in the future.
Na Dong-yeon, Mayor of Yangsan and Chairman of the Nakdong River Council, said, “Through this meeting, we were able to have an important opportunity to cooperate for the development of the Nakdong River basin,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation between regions to achieve our common goals.”
