Goryeong-gun Conducts Safety Korea Training for Disaster Response Including Electric Vehicle Fires

Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, conducted the 2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training at the Goryeong-gun Citizens Gymnasium on the 22nd.

About 120 people from six organizations and groups, including the county office, Goryeong Fire Station, Goryeong Police Station, Volunteer Fire Brigade, Korea Electric Power Corporation Goryeong Branch, and Dalseong KT Branch, participated in this training.

In preparation for the recent frequent occurrences of earthquakes, electric vehicle fires, and large-scale building fires, the training comprehensively inspected the disaster response system for each stage of accident handling, including ▲ rapid initial response by the in-house fire brigade ▲ situation reporting and dissemination ▲ integrated linkage training ▲ joint emergency and medical support by related agencies ▲ and facility damage recovery.

At the training site, a realistic drill was conducted using various equipment, such as demonstrating the extinguishing of an electric vehicle fire with a suffocation fire extinguisher.

County Governor Namchul Lee said, “This training, reflecting social issues, will serve as an opportunity to strengthen effective response plans and capabilities for new types of disasters,” adding, “We will continue to improve the issues identified through the training and continuously inspect the disaster response system to create a safe Goryeong where residents can live with peace of mind.”
