Hana Financial Group announced on the 23rd that it held an opening ceremony for the 'National and Public Hoegi Hana Childcare Center,' established through a public-private partnership with Dongdaemun-gu.

The 'National and Public Hoegi Hana Childcare Center' is a 'multicultural integrated childcare center' that provides quality childcare opportunities to children from socially and economically marginalized multicultural families. It plans to operate various substantial programs to help children from multicultural families grow into healthy members of society.

The newly opened 'National and Public Hoegi Hana Childcare Center' has a site area of 274㎡, a total floor area of 604㎡, and consists of one basement floor and five above-ground floors. It is equipped with childcare rooms, playrooms, playgrounds, and other facilities that can accommodate a total of 60 infants and young children. It will operate five classes for children aged 0 to 5 years old.

In particular, the first-floor space of the childcare center is actively exposed to the outside, and it is expected to become a central facility that breathes vitality and liveliness into the neighborhood.

Additionally, the childcare rooms and common areas where children spend most of their time are decorated in warm and comfortable colors. A rooftop garden for eco-friendly ecological education and a playground for free activities have been provided to help foster the children's emotional development.

At the opening ceremony, Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Lee Pil-hyung and Hana Financial Group Vice Chairman Lee Eun-hyung attended, toured the childcare center facilities, congratulated the enrolled children, and celebrated the opening of the 99th 'National and Public Hoegi Hana Childcare Center' with the director, teachers, and parents.

Lee Eun-hyung, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "Hana Financial Group will work together to ensure that children, the future leaders, can nurture their dreams and hopes and grow up healthy in a quality childcare environment." He added, "Through the '100th Childcare Center Construction Project,' Hana Financial Group will continue efforts not only to expand the quantity of childcare but also to improve the quality of childcare."

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group has been investing 150 billion KRW since 2018 to carry out the '100th Childcare Center Construction Project' to address the low birthrate issue and fulfill its social responsibility in coexistence with local communities. The grand journey of building 100 childcare centers, which began with the first center in Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, in March 2019, will finally conclude with the completion of the 100th childcare center at the end of October.

In addition, Hana Financial Group is leading efforts to respond to the natural population decline caused by low birthrates by building childcare centers tailored to social issues and regional characteristics, including 18 specialized and integrated childcare centers for children with disabilities. Since March, it has been conducting the '365 Days Never-Closing Hana Care Childcare Center' support project, which provides care outside regular childcare hours. Over the next five years, it plans to support care gap childcare at 50 childcare centers with a total budget of 30 billion KRW, including three 365-day childcare centers and 47 weekend/shared childcare centers where children can be cared for on weekends and public holidays.
