A woman in her 20s in Australia got stuck upside down for 7 hours after trying to retrieve her phone that had fallen into a crevice between rocks.

According to the British media outlet The Independent on the 22nd (local time), Ms. A (23), who was walking with friends in the Hunter Valley area, a resort in New South Wales, Australia, dropped her phone into a crevice between rocks on the 12th. Ms. A bent down forcefully to retrieve the phone and fell upside down between the rocks. She eventually got stuck upside down between large rocks about 3 meters deep.

Photos released by the New South Wales (NSW) ambulance service on Facebook show Ms. A stuck upside down in the crevice, with only the soles of her feet visible.

Her friends tried to rescue her but failed, and eventually contacted the ambulance service for help. Upon receiving the report and arriving at the scene, the ambulance team decided to remove the surrounding rocks to rescue Ms. A, who was stuck upside down. Over several hours, rescuers gradually pulled rocks weighing up to 500 kg to create a safe space for extraction.

They then began moving Ms. A’s body back and forth to free her, and she was safely rescued about 7 hours after the accident. Ms. A was taken to the hospital with only minor abrasions.

One of the rescuers at the scene said, "I have been working as a rescuer for 10 years, but this was the first time I experienced something like this," adding, "It was challenging but rewarding." However, the phone that caused the accident reportedly remains stuck in the crevice.
