Praying for the Designation of Peace Economy Special Zone While Walking the Healing Trail at Odusan Observatory
Gyeonggi Paju City, steadily progressing through the stages to establish the Peace Economy Special Zone, announced on the 23rd that it will hold the ‘Citizen Walking Rally to Wish for the Attraction of the Peace Economy Special Zone’ on November 2 to expand public consensus.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the opening ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Paju Jangdan Bean Wellbeing Maru Lawn Square.
Hosted by Paju City and organized by Together Road, approximately 500 citizens, including the mayor of Paju, are expected to attend the walking rally, sharing their hopes for the designation of the Peace Economy Special Zone.
The walking course follows the Odusan Observatory Healing Trail, and special performances by local artists will add vitality to the event, further inspiring citizens’ aspirations for attracting the Peace Economy Special Zone.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, “I hope the Citizen Walking Rally to Wish for the Attraction of the Peace Economy Special Zone will gather the hopes of our citizens, and I will continue to strive until the day the Peace Economy Special Zone is realized in Paju.”
Paju City is promoting the ‘Peace Economy Special Zone Establishment’ as one of the core projects to achieve a self-sufficient city with a population of one million. If the Peace Economy Special Zone is established in Paju, it is expected to contribute to the economic development of Paju and the northern Gyeonggi region, as well as the economic growth of the Republic of Korea by creating a large-scale industrial complex and tourism special zone.
Accordingly, Paju City plans to derive the optimal basic plan through the ‘Basic Concept Concrete Study Service.’ From the talk concert held in the first half of this year to this walking rally, various promotional activities are being carried out to increase understanding and expand consensus on the establishment of the Peace Economy Special Zone.
