Recently, an online community called 'BobaeDream' posted a thread titled "A schizophrenic patient said he came to do something after watching me shower." The poster, Mr. A, stated, "A few days ago, I was sleeping at home when someone knocked on my door like crazy for 30 minutes and rang the doorbell, so I called the police." In the entrance CCTV footage shared by Mr. A, the perpetrator is seen wearing a hat and mask to cover his face and nitrile gloves on one hand.

The man who knocked on the door was arrested on the spot. At the time of arrest, he reportedly said, "Since December last year, I have been watching her shower and came to do something." The man, identified as the son of the apartment owner, is a schizophrenic patient and was found to have secretly watched Mr. A showering from the apartment rooftop.

Mr. A explained, "The man hid in the parking lot when someone entered on the first floor and followed them inside. He was even wearing nitrile gloves only on his right hand." He added, "He pressed the doorbell and crouched down to avoid showing his face on the intercom." Mr. A expressed anger, saying, "During the police investigation, they said that to report attempted rape, the question would be, 'What would you have done if the victim resisted?' and the man would have to say, 'I was going to rape her. I was going to do it forcibly.'"

Only Simple 'Trespassing' Recognized... Case Closed with Suspended Indictment

The case was recognized only as simple trespassing and was forwarded to the prosecution, ending with a suspended indictment. The perpetrator’s guardian reportedly showed a brazen attitude, saying, "Honestly, people have eyes and the windows are open like this," and "Whether she was showering or doing something else, it’s natural to look."

Netizens who read the story expressed outrage with comments such as, "He said he came to do something, but it’s not attempted rape?" "If it were me, I’d move immediately. You never know what might happen," "Seeing the guardian’s attitude, I understand why the son acts like that," "If he comes again, report him for stalking," "You should install multiple CCTVs in front of your house," and "A suspended indictment? What an amazing Korea."
