Nongshim's 'Shin Ramyun Tumba' Craze... No.1 Cup Noodle in Convenience Stores

Right after its release last month, the spicy and creamy Shin Ramyun Toowoomba quickly became a hot topic on social networking services (SNS) for its convenience as a cup noodle, surpassing 3 million units sold in just 24 days. In particular, it ranks first in sales among Nongshim's cup noodles in convenience store channels, a key indicator of cup noodle popularity.

Riding on the success of the cup noodle, Nongshim's bag noodle version of 'Shin Ramyun Tumba,' released this month, has also shown a steep sales increase, selling 1 million packs within just one week. Various topping-added cooking certification photos tailored to the characteristics of bag noodles have been heating up SNS, and since the bag noodle launch, online mentions of Shin Ramyun Tumba have increased by about 40%, emerging as a must-try product especially among younger generations.

Online, consumers are pouring in positive reviews such as “Hip Shin Ramyun, the taste is a pass,” “The best flavor created by Shin Ramyun’s spiciness combined with smooth fresh cream and rich cheese,” “With just Shin Ramyun Tumba and toppings, I’m a genuine cream pasta chef,” and “A taste that unites generations, capturing both my parents’ and my own palate.”

A Nongshim representative said, “Currently, the supply of Shin Ramyun Tumba large bowl noodles cannot keep up with demand,” adding, “We are preparing to expand the supply of cup noodles, and due to continuous consumer requests for bag noodles, we decided to launch the bag noodle version.”
