Local name 'Turtle Chips'... Introducing Choco Churros Flavor
Orion Turtle Chips has launched its attack on the European market. The local name is Turtle Chips (TURTLE CHIPS).
Orion announced on the 23rd that it completed the initial supply of Turtle Chips to 31 Costco stores in the UK, Sweden, and Iceland at the end of last month, and plans to start full-scale sales from January next year.
They are first introducing the "Turtle Chips Choco Churros flavor," which Europeans prefer, and plan to expand the product lineup by developing various flavors tailored to local tastes in the future.
Orion's entry into Europe was made possible by Costco's proposal to stock the product.
Due to the K-wave, overseas local YouTubers have been posting reviews of products like Turtle Chips and Pokachips, and Korean players who have joined prestigious European soccer teams have been sharing certification shots on SNS of gifting Choco Pie to their teammates, increasing awareness of Orion products. This has led to the judgment that there is potential for success in Europe as well.
The differentiated product competitiveness, such as unique flavors and shapes not seen in existing snacks and distinctive textures, has already been sufficiently verified in the U.S. market.
Turtle Chips have entered about 2,000 stores in the U.S. market, including Costco, and this year have expanded into the fastest-growing distribution channels, 'Five Below' and 'Miniso.'
Orion Turtle Chips is growing into a global brand following 'Choco Pie' through its rich four-layer texture and various flavors tailored to consumers' preferences by country. Overseas subsidiaries in China, Vietnam, and India produce and sell Turtle Chips locally, and the product is exported to more than 20 countries including the U.S., the home of snacks, as well as Australia and Canada.
Since its launch in 2017, the global cumulative sales have reached about 500 billion KRW over seven years, establishing it as a representative brand of 'K-snacks.'
An Orion official said, "As we continue to receive love calls from overseas buyers, we plan to spread the K-snack craze to Europe," adding, "We will build a 'Turtle Chips Snack Road' connecting all continents following Choco Pie."
