Guri City Council Increases Monthly Honorary Veterans' Allowance by 100,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW On the 22nd, the Guri City Council held a commemorative photo session after deliberating and passing the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Courtesy and Support for National Veterans and Others in Guri City," which was proposed by Guri City, at the 341st extraordinary session.


The Guri City Council of Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Shin Dong-hwa) deliberated and passed the partial amendment to the "Ordinance on the Treatment and Support for National Veterans, etc. of Guri City" proposed by Guri City at the 341st extraordinary session on the 22nd.


The main amendments include increasing the veterans' honorary allowance from 200,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW per month, raising the welfare allowance for spouses of deceased Korean War and Vietnam War veterans from 100,000 KRW to 150,000 KRW per month, and establishing a new Korean War Veterans' Hero Allowance of 100,000 KRW per month.


Through this revision, it is expected to not only boost the pride of national veterans who defended the country but also provide practical and realistic financial support to veterans and their spouses.


Chairman Shin Dong-hwa stated, "I am very honored to increase the veterans' honorary allowance and the welfare allowance for spouses of deceased veterans, as well as to establish the Korean War Veterans' Hero Allowance." He added, "Going forward, Guri City will continue to make every effort to ensure that there is no lack of respect for national veterans, and furthermore, we will do our best to establish an educational support system to foster a love for the country among the youth of Guri City."
