Yangju Mayor Kang Su-hyun Attends 'Second Half Basic Local Government Heads Disaster Safety Management Training'

Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, is attending the '2024 Second Half Basic Local Government Heads Disaster Safety Management Training' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety at the National Civil Defense Disaster Safety Training Center located in Gongju City, Chungnam, on the 22nd.

According to the "Comprehensive Plan for National Safety System Reform" announced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in January last year, heads of basic local governments are required to complete disaster safety training at least once during their term in accordance with the "Disaster and Safety Management Basic Act."

During the training, not only were the key duties and roles that local government heads must undertake from disaster preparedness to response and recovery explained, but recent issues such as electric vehicle fire response cases and related policies were also introduced.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun stated, "Our city of Yangju is always on high alert to ensure the safety of our citizens," adding, "We will continue to do our best to protect the lives and safety of citizens by communicating and cooperating with related disaster agencies and the local community."
