JLPGA Winner Lee Min-young Rises from World Ranking 169 to 117

Nobuta Group Masters Achieves 7th Career Win
Korda, Bu, Lydia Ko, and In Ruoning Maintain 1st to 4th Places
Ko Jin-young 6th, Yoon In-na 33rd, Park Bo-gyeom 132nd

JLPGA Winner Lee Min-young Rises from World Ranking 169 to 117 Minyoung Lee

In the women's golf world rankings announced on the 21st (local time), she earned 1.09 points, jumping 52 spots from 169th last week. She accumulated points by winning the Nobuta Group Masters (total prize money 200 million yen) on the JLPGA Tour, which concluded last week at the Masters Golf Club (par 72, 6,506 yards) in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.


Lee Min-young secured her 7th JLPGA Tour victory in total, her first in 2 years and 2 months since the Meiji Cup in August 2022. She received a winner's prize of 36 million yen (approximately 320 million KRW), surpassing 500 million yen in total career earnings on the JLPGA Tour. This year, Lee Min-young is the second Korean player to win in Japanese women's golf after amateur Lee Hyo-song at the major Salonpas Cup in May.


Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu (both from the USA), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), and Yin Ruoning (China) maintained their positions from 1st to 4th. Hannah Green (Australia), the winner of last week's LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship, rose 3 spots to claim 5th place.


For Korea, Ko Jin-young dropped one spot to 6th. Yang Hee-young is 10th, Kim Hyo-joo 19th, Shin Ji-ae 25th, Yoon Yi-na 33rd, Lee Ye-won 36th, Kim Se-young 38th, and Lim Jin-hee 40th. Park Bo-gyeom, champion of last week's KLPGA Tour SangSangin Hankyung WowNet Open, jumped 70 spots to 132nd.
