A post threatening to commit murder at Bucheon Station in Gyeonggi Province was uploaded online, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

According to Bucheon Wonmi Police Station on the 21st, at around 4:54 PM that day, a report was made to 112 that a murder threat post had been uploaded on an online community. The unidentified author reportedly wrote, "I will commit murder at Bucheon Station on Seoul Subway Line 1 at 10 AM on the 22nd."

The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which is handling the investigation, began tracking by checking the author's Internet Protocol (IP) address and other details.

The police also deployed dozens of officers, including those from two local police stations and the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency’s Mobile Patrol Unit, around Bucheon Station to strengthen patrols and checkpoints. A police official stated, "We plan to concentrate patrols by deploying all available officers around Bucheon Station until the author of the threat post is apprehended."

Meanwhile, according to the National Police Agency, a total of 298 individuals have been arrested from August last year to early this month for posting murder threat messages online. The police are reportedly considering filing claims for damages against those who post such threats, holding them accountable for wasting public resources.
