Yangsan City Conducts Capacity Building Workshop for Waterworks Public Enterprise Employees

2023 Local Water Supply Management Evaluation Top Institution Incentive

On the 18th, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam conducted a capacity-building workshop for water supply employees at ‘Sup-aeseo’ located in Yangsan, targeting 60 employees from the Water Supply Division and Water Purification Division, excluding essential civil service personnel.

This workshop was organized to encourage the hard work of employees as an incentive received after Yangsan City was selected as the highest grade ‘A’ in the 2023 Local Public Enterprise Management Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Yangsan City Water and Sewage Business Office was selected as the best institution for three consecutive times in 2019, 2021, and 2023. During the management evaluation, it received high marks for enhancing management efficiency through expanding water supply to vulnerable areas, establishing smart pipeline management infrastructure integrating ICT, and introducing a remote meter reading system.

Through the workshop, employees discussed cooperation plans related to their work and broadened their humanities knowledge as public officials through a special lecture by Lee Seong-du, former head of the Ulsang Branch Office and current chairman of the Yangsan City branch of the Sungkyunkwan Confucian Association. They also had the opportunity to recharge morale and create a lively workplace atmosphere by utilizing the facilities and programs of ‘Sup-aeseo’.

Choi Dan-o, head of the Water and Sewage Business Office, said, “Taking this workshop as an opportunity, we will promote trusted and advanced water supply administration so that citizens can drink water with peace of mind,” and added, “We will do our best to achieve the best results through strengthening the capabilities of our employees.”
