April Language Academy Successfully Concludes English Speaking Contest with Over 20,000 Participants

- Providing current students with opportunities to verify their English skills and boost confidence

April Language Academy, the elementary English brand of Cheongdam Language Academy, announced that it successfully concluded the ‘2024 April Speech Contest’ held at Yerimdang Art Hall on October 19.

In this contest, with the theme “Save The Earth (Small Hands Saving the Planet)” selected to raise awareness in the environmental field, over 20,000 students nationwide participated. Starting with the preliminary round in May, about 100 students who advanced through the semifinals competed in the final round in speech and choir categories on the day.

In the speech category, awards were given as follows: Grand Prize (6 students), Excellence Award (6 students), Merit Award (12 students), and Encouragement Award (14 students). In the choir category, 6 teams received awards in three areas: Musicality, Expressiveness, and Gracefulness.

Among the Grand Prize winners, student Lee O-ah, who won the Grand Prize at Sapling Level 2?a deepened speaking and writing course known among parents as the “flower of April Language Academy”?said, “I was able to have a more meaningful experience because I received good results after preparing hard.” She added, “Although April teachers usually provide meticulous guidance, while preparing for the contest, I received detailed coaching on every single pronunciation, which was a great help.”

A representative of April Language Academy stated, “Since its inception in 2016, this event has not only provided students with an opportunity to assess their English skills but also served as a meaningful occasion to improve English presentation skills and boost motivation and confidence in learning English. We hope that children will grow further through healthy competition.”

Meanwhile, April Language Academy, ranked first in the Brand Star Elementary English Education category for 11 consecutive years, is currently recruiting new students for the winter semester at 115 branches nationwide starting October 21. The entrance exam for April Language Academy, which can be taken by children starting from age 7, is conducted by dividing levels according to learning history and English proficiency. Based on the entrance exam results, students receive a nationwide level distribution by grade and a comparative index of vocabulary difficulty based on U.S. public education standards.
