Asset Building Support for Low-Income Earners with Employment Income
Paju City is conducting self-reliance capacity training for participants in the first half of the Asset Formation Support Project. On the 22nd, Paju City in Gyeonggi announced that it will conduct self-reliance capacity education for about 60 participants of the Asset Formation Support Project at the multipurpose room of the Citizens' Hall on the 24th.
The Asset Formation Support Project is a program that supports asset formation for low-income earners with earned income to achieve self-reliance. Participants who have enrolled in the Hope Savings Account save a fixed amount monthly for a three-year term, and if they meet the account maintenance conditions, the government provides additional support funds to help vulnerable groups accumulate a lump sum.
The self-reliance capacity education is designed to promote safe asset formation and management for participants through efficient financial and fiscal management, and to strengthen economic independence and self-sufficiency capabilities so that they can lead a stable life.
The education session, themed "Financial Planning, Savings, and Consumption," will be held from 7 PM to 9 PM with Kwak Se-chang, a financial education specialist from the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, invited as the instructor.
A participant who attended the education in the first half of the year said, "I knew the importance of saving but did not know how to start. Through the education, I learned how to make a financial plan and recently achieved my three-year savings goal and withdrew my savings. I hope others will also gain useful information through this education."
Kwon Ye-ja, Director of the Welfare Support Division, stated, "Currently, about 1,300 people are practicing savings through participation in the Asset Formation Support Project. We will continue to pay close attention and make ongoing efforts to provide necessary information and regularly operate specialized education to strengthen the self-reliance capacity of project participants and contribute to their stable living."
