At Kim Dae-jung Convention Center: Promoting Return-to-Farming and Rural Settlement Initiatives
Focused Publicity on Support Policies for Return-to-Farming and Rural Settlement
Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it operated a return-to-farming-and-fishing promotion booth at the '2024 Green & Agritech Asia Expo' held for three days from the 17th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju.
During the expo, the county focused on promoting key support policies for returnees to farming and fishing villages, such as support for young fishermen's settlement and activation of startups for returnees to farming and fishing villages. There was high interest from prospective returnees in Gohung-gun, which was ranked first nationwide for centenarian elders aged 100 and above.

Gohung-gun is striving to improve future strategic industries and residential conditions by expanding the Gohung-type large-scale smart farm innovation valley and creating residential complexes by region for young people who will lead future advanced agriculture. To provide a better educational environment, it plans to expand the existing Namyang-myeon return-to-farming school and newly launch it as a 'Dormitory-type Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Happiness School.'
In addition, Gohung-gun is expected to increase the resident population settling in the area and revitalize the local economy of rural fishing villages by being selected for programs such as 'Hometown Olrae Two-region Living Experience' (Ministry of the Interior and Safety) and 'Fisheries Village New Vitality Promotion Project' (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries).
