Daekyo Investment Participates in WeVenture
Cumulative Investment Amount 3.7 Billion KRW
SpaceB, the operator of the short-term real estate rental platform ‘SamSamM2,’ announced on the 21st that it has secured 2.5 billion KRW in Series A funding. Existing investors Daekyo Investment and WeVentures both participated in this round, bringing the total accumulated investment to 3.7 billion KRW. SpaceB plans to use the investment to focus on service expansion and technological advancement.
Founded in 2018, SpaceB is a startup aiming to revitalize the short-term rental market, which has demand but insufficient supply. It currently operates the ‘SamSamM2’ service, connecting people who want to rent homes for short periods with those who want to rent them out.
The demand for short-term rentals, driven by various reasons such as long-term business trips, interior work, and studies, continues to increase. As short-term rentals gain attention as an alternative to jeonse and monthly rent, housing flexibility is improving. In line with these changes, SamSamM2’s performance is also increasing. Last year, it achieved an annual profit for the first time since its establishment, and in March of this year, the app reached 1 million downloads. It is experiencing significant growth, having already surpassed last year’s annual transaction amount of 26 billion KRW and approximately 20,000 contracts in the first half of this year.
Park Hyung-jun, CEO of SpaceB, said, "This investment confirms the growth potential of SamSamM2. We will continue to innovate to change the paradigm of the rental market and strive to provide a better housing experience for everyone beyond a simple transaction platform."
