Attention-Grabbing Performances Including 1.2m Diameter Giant Hamburger
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that it successfully concluded the '2024 Pyeongtaek City Food Culture Festival' held on the 19th at the Oseong-myeon Agricultural Ecological Park.
The event featured a nationwide cooking competition, tasting and experience of Pyeongtaek’s famous restaurants and world cuisines, and a large hamburger performance. In particular, the event attracted visitors' attention with a performance of making a giant hamburger measuring 1.2 meters in diameter. The city explained that this hamburger was made using local agricultural products and was created through free talent donations within the district.

Twenty teams selected through preliminary screening participated in the cooking competition, showcasing a variety of dishes, and four teams won awards based on the judging by food-related experts.
Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, said, "This year’s festival was a meaningful event that highlighted the region’s uniqueness through the cooking competition using ingredients produced in Pyeongtaek and the giant hamburger performance," adding, "We will continue to strive to develop a distinctive food culture unique to Pyeongtaek."
